Paul and I spent our Saturday grateful that the rain held off (for the most part!) alongside 300 volunteers working at 8 homes, one community center, and one urban farm, in Dorchester and Roxbury.
National Rebuilding Day is Rebuilding Together Boston’s largest service day of the year, but there are programs and educational opportunities provided all year long. They are preserving affordable housing, revitalizing neighborhoods, and even teaching homeowners how to continue maintaining their home on their own.
Creative programs like this are a piece of how we can work to tackle the housing crisis. Much more needs to be done, and I am hopeful that we can work together and move solutions in our own city foward.
